Ravid Abarbanel is a dancer, choreographer and teacher based in Israel.
Born in 1986 in central Israel, she began dancing at the age of five and has continued to practice her passion ever since.
She began her professional training in the ‘Maslool’ - Professional Dance Program in Tel Aviv under the direction of Naomi Perlov and Offir Dagan.
After completing the two-year program, she continued her studies at the Rotterdam Dance Academy in The Netherlands.
She holds a B-Dance degree from the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, and is a certified Pilates instructor specializing in the Balanced Body Method.

As a dancer, Ravid has worked with several Israeli choreographers including Sharon Vazanna, Shlomit Fundaminsky, Idan Yoav, Dana Katz, Oz Mulay and Smadar Goshen.

Her first solo piece ‘Underneath’ premiered as part of the Suzanne Dellal Center’s Shades Dance Festival 2015 and went on to win the 3th Prize for choreography at the International Dance Theatre Competition in Stuttgart and The Best performer price at the Barnes Crossing SoloDue, Cologne, Germany.

The solo was invited to perform in several cities in Germany, Brazil, Spain, Mexico, Poland, Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.

In August 2016, she created ‘Crumbling’, a solo influenced by ‘Undreneath’.
‘Crumbling’ premiered as a part of the Tel Aviv Dance Festival along with Ravid’s short dance film -‘Crumbling underneath’.

In 2017 Ravid received a monthlong residency to finish her new creation ALIZA. 
The piece was developed within the frame of Derida Dance Center’s Residency 
Program, a project part of the Calendar of Cultural Events of Sofia Municipality for 2017, with the support of The Israeli Embassy in Sofia, Bulgaria.
The piece premiered on September 2017, at the ‘Shades dance’ festival in Suzanne Dellal, 

Tel Aviv - Israel.

Ravid teaches across a wide variety of dance platforms focusing on improvisation, contemporary dance technique, repertoire and pilates.
